- Overdue Account: – If the installment fixed for recovery of loan given by the banking society to its shareholder is not received by the prescribed date (i.e. the date on which the instalment amount is due to be received by the bank from the railways), then it will be considered overdue.
- SMA:-According to RBI guidelines, a Special Mention Account (SMA) is classified when a loan account remains overdue for a specific period, with three categories:
(a)SMA-0 (up to 30 days overdue),
(b)SMA-1 (between 31-60 days overdue),
(c) SMA-2 (between 61-90 days overdue). - NPA:- If the overdue period exceeds 90 days, the account is classified as a Non-Performing Asset (NPA).
